Monday, April 28

Beautiful day today, blue skies, in the high 70's. Sounds like we
should have left today. Forecast for tomorrow, cloudy and much cooler and high winds.

We'll get an early start tomorrow for North Dakota. Would like to get to Bismarck.

More birthday cake.

This morning as we were getting ready to go over to Ryan and Tricia's we couldn't find my small Kodak digital camera. It's a very nice camera that we have used the past year for all our photos. We thoroughly searched the Creek (the 5th wheel)and the truck, no camera. I was getting sick. I called Ryan thinking we may have left it at their house, nope. The only placed we had stopped was at Albertsons to purchase a few groceries. It was a long shot, but just maybe it fell out when I put the groceries in the back seat of the truck. Even if it did, it would be a longer long shot if someone turned it in. I decided we would stop on the way to Ryan & Tricia's just to see if someone had possibly turned in a camera found in the parking lot.
UNBELIEVABLE! there are still honest people. I walked up to the service desk and ask the girl if there was any chance someone had turned in a camera found in the parking lot. She smile and ask to me to describe it, which I did, they had it. What a wonderful feeling, not only that I got my camera back but that someone had turned it in. They didn't have the person name, only that it was an elderly lady. Thank you!

Ryan & Drew

Drew is just all over the house now. Up and down the stairs, chasing Sammy(their trusty pet) and looking for something to get into .

Sunday, April 27

Beautiful weather in Billings today. Blue skies and in the 70's.

Big day today. Celebrated Drew's first birthday. Spent the entire day at Ryan and Tricia's home, primarily playing with Drew.

Nemo birthday cake that Tricia made and grandma help decorate for Drew's birthday.
Plan on taking it easy tomorrow and hit the road early Tuesday.

Paid $4.19 for diesel here today.

"Why is this big silver balloon shaped like a one floating right next to my chair"?

Ummm ummm birthday cake

Can I eat all of this?

Nope, let's dump it on the floor.

Yippeee, besides tasting good it's fun to play with

Dad, I see you hiding the cake

Grandma getting some help from Drew with a new toy, while Dad is busy building a new one.

Happy Birthday Drew!

Spring Trip 2008, Saturday, April 26

Saturday, April 26

We're off again on another journey. If you are following our trip we hope you enjoy our blog. Please don't judge my grammar......like some do. Huh Carol?

Finally a break in the weather. Cold this morning but blue skies. Heavy frost on the windows as you can see in the pic. We were up early and finished packing, check our check lists and hit the road. Our first stop is in Billings, to visit Ryan, Tricia and Drew. Sunday will be celebrating Drew's first birthday, more on that in tomorrows post. We stay at the KOA in Billings. There are very few RV parks in Billings, we're very comfortable at the KOA. Carol likes it because it's close to the Montana Womens State Pen, she can visit some of her friends. LOL

Trip down was uneventful, except that I see Kalispell has the highest price on diesel. I see it as low as 4.18 per gal in Billings (I know it's still pathetic). High winds started around Livingston, nothing new for those of you that are familiar with Montana.

Carol loading up that last pair of shoes..............

Driving along the west shore of Flathead lake.
Coming down the hill into Polson, Mt.. Mission Mountains in the background
The "stack" at Anaconda, Mt..
The stack is huge, a Montana landmark. The copper smelter from years ago. Does it make you homesick Jolene?
