Thursday, June 5

Nashville, Tn.

Another scorcher today, high 90's and humid. We started the day off having breakfast outside with Bill and Metha, then we headed for downtown Nashville. We parked at LP field and took a shuttle over to the convention center, CMA Exhibition Hall. Booth after booth, we walked and look and picked up a few souvenirs but didn't stand in line for any autographs, long lines. After the hall we headed for the River front park concert area. We didn't make it, a quick stop at "Tootsies" turned into several hours. The place was hopping with people and great music. I was in the men's bathroom, I looked over to my left and here is Elvis. I asked him how he was doing, he said, "great and thank you, thank you very much". Guy sounded and looked just like Elvis, cracked me up. We have some great pictures of Elvis and much more but I can't upload any photos to our blog. Keep checking back I'll keep trying.
We went back to the RV park and picked up our truck and parked it in a downtown parking area, because Carol and were going to the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman, show started at 11:00 PM and ended at 1:00 AM. We took the shuttle bus back over to LP field to find our seats for Thursday nights concerts at th LP. That fiasco is another story to long for the blog, anyway we finally made it and were in our seats with Bill and Metha and the start of the concert.
Concert at LP field: Montgomery Gentry, these guys are great, put on a hot show. KelliePickler, OK, don't think I'll evet be a great fan, Jewel, Taylor Swift, Sugarland, Luke Bryan and the best performance of the the night was Rascal Flatts along with Montgomery Gentry, these two groups had the stadium rocking with country music. Carol and had to skoot out around 10:15PM, we crossed the river and headed up Broadway past all the Honky Tonks to the Ryman Auditorium. Opry show started at 11:00 PM. What a historical place, I get goose bumps just being there. Our show at the Ryman was Lorrie Morgan, Neal McCoy, Joe Diffe, Andy Griggs, Chris Young, Mountain Heart (Blue grass) and the Del McCoury band. Del McCoury band has been judged was the best blue grass group in the world.....they were super. After a wonderful 2 hours at the Ryman the show ended and Carol and I made it back to the RV around 2AM. Exhausted, but what a wonderful day.
