DC, National Park Service Tour

A tour set up for us by Senator Baucus office with the National Park Service. We met our tour guide at the Department of the Interior at 9:00 AM and off we went. The tour was great especially the parking, being with the park service. One unexpected treat we experienced on our first stop was the Montana Honor Flight was at the WWII Memorial the same time we as we arrived. Was very heartwarming to see all the veterans from Montana as well as getting to visit with some wonderful folks from Montana. Senator Baucus and his wife were there as well.

Montana Honor Flight Veterans visiting the WWII Memorial. Emotional moment for many.

The Korean Conflict Memorial

Vietnam Veterans Memorial. What a powerful memorial. 58256 names on the wall.

The Lincoln Memorial

Washington Monument, surrounded with scaffolding for repairs suffered during earthquake. Behind the monument is the Capitol Rotunda and in front is Reflection pool.

At the FDR Memorial

I don't believe this was a lifelike sculptor of Eleanor Roosevelt.

Jefferson Memorial

Tomorrow Carol and I plan on visiting the National Mall again, I hope we have some blue sky.
