Friday, May 23

Goshen, Indiana

We've been here so long it almost feels like home..........kind of.

Neither of us slept very well in the Motel (Best Western in Goshen)last night, it's nice to be back in our Creek tonight. What a beautiful morning and today was almost perfect. We started with our free breakfast at the motel. Very good breakfast, buffet style with much to choose from. We packed up and decided today we would spend driving and walking around the Amish community. So many roads, narrow little 2 lane roads one after the other. We buried ourselves in countryside. So peaceful, I can understand why they live this way. Yoder, Miller, Hostettler are among the most popular names. From popcorn, wooden toys, custom furniture, quilts, honey, "brown" eggs and much more, the Amish community utilizes all their resources and skills to drive a bustling family oriented community. Tomorrow we leave for Kentucky, both Carol and I have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in "Amish Country".

We purchased a beautiful quilt from an Amish home business, so we'll have something new to hang when we get home. For lunch we had a piece of pie and coffee at another Amish restaurant in near Middlebury.

Around 2:00 in the afternoon I recieved a call from Cedar Creek. We drove to the factory with in the hour and were very pleased with the work completeted on our trailer. All outside repairs/replacement to the gelcoat and fiberglass were completed plus they had replaced our screen door with a new storm door. Kudos to Cedar Creek service. We're back at the park at the fairgrounds but are leaving tomorrow AM.

We are thankful that our family members are safe and well after the devastating tornados in Wyoming and Colorado yesterday and pray for they continued safety and well being.

Carol was impressed with all the clothes lines we saw. She reallly wanted one of those blue cotton dresses.

Another road, and another and another.............

An Amish home, notice the the impressive bird condos, Oh! and also the clothes line.

Dairy cows were every where along with horses, shetlands, goats, chickens Notice the solar panels on top of the homes.

Yoder Woodworking. Notice the telephone shack in the background.

Following in big sister's footsteps

A trip to the grocery store. Horse and buggy were parked along side the building.

Another horse and buggy heading our way.
