Sunday, Monday, Tuesday

Goshen, Indiana

Well here it is Wednesday morning so I'm going to enter 3 days on one page then we'll be caught up.

We're the only "Creekers" left in the park the last one pulled out this morning, Steve & Norma from Tennessee.

Sunday night we went to a very good Italian restaurant that Sandy and Carol had made arrangements with. Dinner was excellent and it was a nice evening spent together with new friends. Monday morning, many goodbyes were exchanged as most members hit the road. I took Carol to a laundromat in downtown Goshen and I went to an RV store. Monday evening we went to dinner with Windsor and Pam from Ohio at a Mexican restaurant we found last week. Very good and reasonable, a couple of drinks and 2 meals for under $20.00.
Tuesday, the weather is nice but still have a cool breeze. Today we went back to the Flea market at Shipshewana and also went to a couple of Amish furniture outlets. The flea market is amazing. I think you can find just about whatever you want. We still didn't make it all the way through it. Around 2:00 PM we met Steve & Norma at the Blue Gate Family restaurant in Shipshewana. Salad, Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, noodles, corn bread stuffing and meatloaf and then for dessert, delicious home made pie. They had to roll us out of there.
Tuesday evening was spent watching a little bit of TV, we both went to bed early.

Carol in front of the Blue Gate Restaurant. Wonderful place to eat and visit.
While I was fueling up I notice these two pumps. The Amish use white gas and kerosene for lamps and heating.
Another Amish buggy, this one has some goods in the little trailer.
Amish girls heading home after work.

Typical county road, narrow, nice white houses about every quarter mile and Amish buggies coming and going.
Amish driver ed. Youngster in a small 2 wheeled cart. Here is the Amish telephone hut. They can't have a phone inside the house so they build these little huts out by the road and several neighbors share.

Love the pictures and some interesting tid-bits. My family will be staying at the new Indoor Water Park/Splash Universe. I love the shops, but they close early. Looking forward to playing at the water park after shopping. Would like to wonder away from downtown when we leave, want to show kids the Amish life. Would like to know what road your pictures were taken.
