Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

After breakfast we loaded our tour bus. Our tour consisted of a trip up the tower the tallest structure in Niagara Falls and also a great viewing platform for the falls. A trip behind the falls. We took an elevator down then you walk in tunnels behind the Canadian Falls, stopping at the 3 viewing tunnels where the falls are only a few feet away, the roar of the water was something else. Our next stop was the Butterfly conservatory, beautiful. The best way to describe the conservatory is with pictures, I'll have one day coming up that is only pictures of the conservatory. Then we had a lunch break at a nice little shopping center. Our guide, Joe, was born and raised in Niagara Falls he is an expert on the falls and surroundings, sharing many stories and photos with us making the tour even more enjoyable. After lunch we had our voyage aboard the "Maid of the Mist", got a little wet but also got some beautiful views and shots of both falls.
After our tour Mark and I enjoyed a couple of local brews while the ladies went shopping for a souvenirs. Later we all met and enjoyed dinner at another casino. After dinner Carol, Sandy and I went to the Imax theatre and watched "Legends of the Falls". After the movie the three of us took the elevator up the tower to look at the falls with the lights on them. The lights stay on until around midnight. Then sometime after midnight they also divert almost 2/3's of the Canadian Falls water through turbines to create power for the city of Buffalo, NY. I would have never guest that the flow of these magnificent falls slows that much everyday.

An amazing volume of water.
