Olympic National Park 10/4 - 10/9

Monday & Tuesday we spent touring and hiking in the Park.+
An old road that leads to a trailhead up Elwha River Valley.

Looking off Hurricane Ridge you can see the Strait of Juan De Fuca, the town of Squim and in the distances is Mount Baker.
Looking toward Mount Olympus from Hurricane Ridge. There are over 60 active glaciers in Olympic National Park.
I'm on the Hurricane Ridge trail facing the Strait of Juan De Fuca. Yes, that is snow.
Carol on a trail in the Elwha Valley. The growth is amazing, green foilage, ferns everywhere and then in many places the sun is blocked from the forest floor because of the mass of old growth timber. Moss, lichen and many froms of fungus grow rampant in the rain forest.
Madison Creek Falls, a falls approximately 20 feet tall. A short hike to this little gem in the forest.

Amazing how each Park has its own significant pieces of beauty! That waterfall is spectacular. Glad you had such a great time enjoying this area. Someday... we'll get there! Pam & Windsor
