Port Angeles, Wa. October 4-10

We left Bothell on Sunday and pulled into Port Angeles in the middle of the afternoon. What a gorgeous day for a drive, beautiful blue skys and you could see both Mount Rainer and  Mount Baker.
After we set everything up we drove into town and went for a walk along the pier.

Bridge on Highway 16 crossing the Tacoma Narrows. Each lane on the bridge was separated with a 2 foot section that was flexible. You could actually be driving in one lane and the car next to you could be higher or lower than your lane.
You can see the flexible sections in this photo.Naval ship yard at Bremerton, Wa.

The pier at Port Angeles. If you look real close you can see Mount Baker in the distance.
Our site at the RV park was very nice. The fall colors, the mountains of Olympic National and just a few blocks from the coast.

WOW-- I had no idea this is what you could see in Port Angeles! The bridge is an architectural phenomenon. Shall add to my bucket list... Pam & Windsor
