We spent two nights in Salina, Kansas. Nice to take it easy for a day and get a little rest. We drove to Abilene and visited the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum. We had a very
nice visit at this wonderful facility. So much history.
Dwight Eisenhower's boy hood home in it's original location. One of 6 sons of David and Ida Eisenhower.
12 foot tall statue stands overlooking the 22 acres
Eisenhower's original military limo. This Cadillac had over 200,000 miles on it. Restored to original and presented to Eisenhower when he left the White House, it now sits in the Eisenhower Museum.
Saw this water cooled 30 caliper water cooled machine gun and it reminded me of my Uncle Ken in WWII
Landing on Omaha
The Chapel, the final resting place for Dwight Eisenhower, wife Mamie and one son, Doud Dwight
Just one of the beautiful windows in the chapel, all were approx. 20 feet tall.
