May 4 - Grand Ole Opry

Saturday the ladies went shopping at Opry Mills Mall. By the look of the bags they had it must have been a success. On a rainy weekend day I think everyone in Nashville must be at the mall. Later we had a nice dinner at the Backstage Grill (all the waiters rotate singing on stage), then we went to the Opry. After the Opry at midnight we went to the Midnight Jamboree at The Ernest Tubbs record shop and Troubadour Theater. Wow! what an evening.

The Opry Square Dancers started the show.

Our friend, genuine country gentleman one of Ernest Tubbs Texas Troubadours.
Leon Rhodes
"Take it away Leon"

Jimmy Wayne

Country Music Hall of Fame member and Country legend, Jean Shepard.
She sounded great.

The Whites singing one of their songs from the movie "O How Great Thou art"

Andy Griggs

Kathy Mattea sang a couple of her songs and tribute to George Jones

Mike Snider and his group getting it on with some awesome blue grass music.

Jesse McReynolds and his group bringing down the house with some more blue grass

Mandy Barnett singing Patsy Cline. She played Patsy Cline in the Broadway production of
 "Always, Patsy Cline"

Whispering Bill Anderson singing a couple of his songs.

Charlie Daniels playing the guitar.

Then Charlie Daniels and his band brought it down with "The Devil went down to Georgia".
He went through 3 bows and I thought I saw smoke coming from his fiddle.

Fantastic Show!
