Ft. Collins
After the late night Friday, it was a good morning to take it easy. Chris spent the night with us and after another visit to Vern's, she and I went to visit a classmate of mine from hygiene school, Janice "Red" Kelly. I know that it had been 30 years and it was great to see her and catch up with other classmates of ours. We then met Tom and Mary Pat at Jax, a local sporting goods store for some shopping (sort of like a mini Cabella's) which kept us all occupied until our tickets for the mico-brewery tours. We first went to O'Dells operated by a Ft. Collins family. It was a very interesting tour with a great guide. She really knew her stuff and taught us about making beer! We of course had some samples and Steve won a t-shirt! We then went to the New Belgium Brewery which makes Fat Tire (their most famous) plus many others. Much larger that O'Dell's with a larger scale market. We all agreed that the first was the more interesting tour. Chris and I then went to the mall for some quick shopping since Laramie lacks petite/small sizes. The wind started blowing and we both could have gone off to Kansas pretty quickly! Then she went home to Laramie and we watched the Rockies game. The whole city of Denver is going baseball crazy---Roctober!
No pictures today--forget the camera at the trailer!
Links to the micro brews we toured (and sampled) today.
