Wednesday, April 30

Carlton, Minnesota just south of Duluth
It was cloudy and cool with high winds this morning as we left Bismarck. Carol said this morning “I sure didn’t see anything here to make me want to come back”. I agreed. Wind was terrible all the way through North Dakota. Only attractions along the road are the pheasants and unfortunately many of those are dead, hit by vehicles.
Finally the wind died down around Morehead, Mn.. The further north we got the more water we saw. WOW! Lakes were everywhere. I really liked it around Brainerd. From Brainerd to Duluth they have a lot of flooding going on. Arrived at our destination around 5:30, this KOA doesn’t open until tomorrow but owners welcomed us. Nice people, they showed us the easiest way to get through Duluth and a rest area to stop at for a scenic overlook of Duluth. Found diesel here for $3.99.

Two bridges crossing Lake Superior at Duluth. One is the longest in Minnesota the other the tallest, we crossed the tallest. WOW was it windy, felt like we were tip so far we were on two wheels.
The wind blowing under the bridge into the busies port in the great lakes.
